Obituary of Allyn McROBERTS

Allyn Charles McRoberts, 76, passed away March 11, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Robert and Geraldine (Alflen) McRoberts on November 7, 1928 in Detroit, MI.Allyn attended Henry Ford Technical Trade School. While a Police Officer in Fullerton, CA, he attended the FBI Criminal Analysis Training Center. When Allyn moved to Arizona 38 years ago, he became a Sheriff-Deputy for both Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City Stations. He was selected as the Security Officer for the Lord Mayor of London during the dedication of Lake Havasu City's London Bridge. Allyn was also owner of Mohave Communications (expanded communication and security services) for 32 years in Lake Havasu. Allyn was a member of the Elks, Police Officers Association, the Coast Guard Auxillary, Sheriff's Boating Safety Program, the Sheriff's Posse and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu.Allyn is survived by his beloved wife of two years, Marilyn Sue Simmons McRoberts; son, Richard Lee McRoberts of Nampa, ID; daughter, Sharon Kay McRoberts Paris of Caldwell, ID; stepson, Kevin Tod Simmons of Las Vegas, NV; stepdaughter, Tamara Sue Simmons Minton of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Ronald Lewis McRoberts of Myrtle Point, OR; sister, Roberta McRoberts Kolbly of Myrtle Point, OR; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren.He was preceded in death by Mary McRoberts, his wife of 36 years; son, Larry McRoberts and sister, Claudia Crawford.A visitation will be held Sunday, March 13, 6 to 8 PM with the Elks Lodge of Sorrow at 7:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Father Michael Deptula will officiate. Following Mass full military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #9401 and American Legion #81.In lieu of flowers donations are requested in Allyn's name to Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club Inc. P.O. Box 2512 Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86405.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
