Robert D. RugerRobert D. Ruger, 82, passed away on May 28, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on March 6, 1923 in Chicago, IL.Bob moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 18 years ago from Rochester Hills, MI. He worked as an engineer for A.P. Parts in Detroit, MI; for 30 years. Bob began flying at the age of l6, becoming the youngest licensed pilot in Michigan and later went on to build his own plane. He served proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corps; WWII. Bob also enjoyed motorcycling and had participated in the annual Toys for Tots motorcycle run.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Betty Ruger, son Ron Ruger and wife Sally of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; daughter Katherine Smith and husband Greg of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren Andrew and Jennie Ruger and Garrett, Tanner and McKenna Smith.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Carol Sheffield will be officiating and the V.F.W. will present military honors. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405. Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
