Frank Edward Loucks, November 28, 1934 to May 30, 2005. A devoted husband, father and grandfather passed from this world and is waiting for his loved ones in heaven. Born the oldest of three sons to Ferol and Clifford Loucks in Van Nuys, CA. After serving his country in the US Army, Frank continued his education and later worked with Dr. Wernher Von Braun in Huntsville, AL, developing ballistic missile technology which later took man to the moon.Frank's adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit took him from Southern California to Lake Havasu City in 1977 where he opened and operated The Thirsty Pretzel and then owned the Mermaid Inn until the early 1980's. Frank's dream of taking on the challenge of a commercial boat captain took him from the calm waters of Lake Havasu to the adventurous high seas of Alaska and the Bering Straits. Frank operated a 65' commercial tender until he returned to Lake Havasu City in June 2000.Frank's friends and family will always remember him for his natural ability as a mechanical wizard. He also will be remembered by friends and family for his loving spirit, outgoing big smile, boisterous laugh, and original clichés which kept us all just wondering, "What did he say".Frank is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Nancy, they will love each other more than forever; children, Laura Loucks of Crestline, CA, Corky (Lori) Friesz of Lake Havasu City, Jennifer (Bob) Brown of Stockton, CA, Susan (Pat) O'Brien of Roseville, CA; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Corey and Aaron of Crestline, CA, William Katherine and Michael of Lake Havasu City and Patrick, Brooke and Dylan of Roseville, CA and brother, Robert (Kate) Richmond of Seattle, WA.Frank was preceded in death by his brother Raymond. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Havasu for their loving care, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
