Obituary of Arthur WILMES

Arthur L. Wilmes, 81, passed away on June 12, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on August 13, 1923 in Glen Ullin, North Dakota to Peter J. Wilmes and Theresa "Tavis" Wilmes.Arthur was employed as a maintenance man for Los Angeles Unified School District in Los Angeles, California for 24 years. He was a proud veteran of World War II in the U.S. Navy. He made his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona 21 years ago from Simi Valley, California. Arthur was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Elks, and Eagles. He enjoyed horseshoes, camping, crossword puzzles, and was an avid dancer. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ethelyn Wilmes of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; son Keith A. Wilmes (Carol) of Boise, Idaho; daughter Linda A. Gietzen (Curtis) of Dickinson, North Dakota; brothers Wilfred Wilmes (Pauline) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Donald Wilmes (Helen) of Richardton, North Dakota, John Wilmes (Shirley) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; sisters Pauline Schonert of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Helen Wilmes of Newtown, North Dakota, Leona Schneider of Fort Collins, Colorado, Marian Filibeck of Rapid City, South Dakota and Eileen Gerving (Jerome) of Glen Ullin, North Dakota; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Memorial mass will be said on Wednesday June 15, 2005 at 11:00 AM. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, with Father Fidelis Igwenwanne officiating and Patrick Toilolo as organist and soloist. Reception will follow at Holy Family Parrish Center.
