Joanne Elaine Schubert, with her loving husband, Leo of 54 years, at her side Joanne passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ on July 14, 2005. She was 72. She is survived by her husband, Leo and her children, Michael of Rohnert Park, CA, Randall of Victor, MT, Richard of Blair, NB, Jane Headrick of Granite Bay, CA and Patrick of Glenwood Springs, CO and their families. She leaves behind her sister Jane Pocock of Florida, ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Davison and Donald Davison.Joanne was born and raised in Detroit, MI on August 18, 1932. She lived with her husband and family for many years in Michigan before moving to Colorado then California and then retiring to Lake Havasu City.After raising her children she went back to nursing school at age 41 and graduated at the top of her class. She always enjoyed helping people and her nursing career fulfilled that desire in her. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA for 10 years before moving to Arizona. In Lake Havasu City she worked for 5 years at Havasu Regional Medical Center before retiring. They enjoyed an active retirement including RVing across the country, playing cards with friends and her hobby of many years of making ceramics, which satisfied the artist in her.She was very active in the Lake City Democratic Party and she was a precinct chairperson for several years.Joanne has cultivated many friendships over the years and has many friends in Lake Havasu City. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu.There will be a celebration of her life Tuesday, July 19. 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. A reception will follow the services.The family requests donations be made in her name to the Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Arrangements entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
