William L. Ruffner, 78, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on June 18, 1927 in Owensville, MO. William moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 2 years ago from Laughlin, Nevada. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He worked as a metallurgist for Ticorm, which he was a partner and president, in Gardena, CA; for 40+ years. William was honored by NASA for contributions he made to the space program and was always designing metal boats and accessories. William enjoyed boating and fishing on the lake and was a member of the Owensville Lodge #624. He was very devoted to his familyWilliam is survived by his loving wife Reta Ruffner, who were married on September 1, 1947; son Scott William Ruffner and daughter Cynthia Ramage and husband Mel all of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother Roy Ruffner of Nashville, TN; sister Evelyn Nicks of Bland, MO; sister in law Ruth Micciancio of Lake Havasu City, AZ; grandchildren Scott and Austin Ruffner of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Cambria Hilgers of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Matthew Horn of Oceano, CA; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, August 12, 2005 at 10:00 am with Pastor Corey Mortimer officiating. Military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post #9401 and American Legion Post #81. He will be buried at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
