Thomas Craig Lovin passed away at his home on August 26, 2005 at the age of 57. Tom was born on March 6, 1948 in Oakland, CA to Lester and Mary Jane (Whitelock) Lovin.Following graduation from high school, Tom joined the United States Marine Corp. to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Tom was honorably discharged on August 17, 1970 achieving the rank of Sergeant.Tom then returned to Southern California where he began a career in law enforcement with the Huntington Beach Police Department. During his 22 years of service with the police department, Tom worked in the undercover division, the detective division and the K9 division. Tom was totally devoted to his job, lecturing and training officers on the handling and recognition of various drugs. After his retirement from the police department, Tom was given the difficult task of being the model coordinator for Hot Boat Magazine.Tom moved to Lake Havasu City 6 years ago from Costa Mesa, CA. It was here that Tom became an avid golfer, playing several times a week and was an active member of the London Bridge Hackers.Tom is survived by his son, Jeff Lovin and wife Misty of Newport Beach, CA; daughter, Jennifer Lovin of Costa Mesa, CA; mother, Mary Jane Hadland of Surprise, AZ; sisters, Vicki Meyers and Cindy Harrison, both of Surprise, AZ. Tom is also survived by one grandson, Ethan Lovin.A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, September 17 from 2 to 3:30 PM at the Ramada Inn in the Cholla Room.
