Obituary of Dorothy ROPE

Dorothy Jane Rope, 85, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Havasu Nursing Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on June 6, 1920 in St. Joseph, MO. Dottie married her husband Merrill November 20, 1942 in San Diego, CA. She worked during the war years in a defense plant and thereafter as an executive secretary for the La Mesa Spring Valley School District in La Mesa, CA; for 20 years. Dottie and her husband moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 17 years ago from San Diego, CA. She joined the Lake Havasu golfing Happy Niners and became active in the Republican Women. Dottie was also an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. She was embraced and endorsed by her church.Dottie is survived by her loving husband Merrill Paul Rope of Lake Havasu City, AZ; brother, George Kolbe Jr., and sister, Betty Wilding and many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Hartwig officiating.Donations can be made in Dottie's name to Our Saviour Lutheran School.Condolences may be made to her family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
