Brigadier General Paul E. Hoover, the fifth child born to Everett and Ariel Hoover in Dark County, OH on August 11, 1919 passed away October 17, 2005.Paul's career with the United States Air Force began as a cadet and spanned 38 years. He was schooled after service in World War II and became a fighter pilot, receiving such honors as the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star. General Hoover was called to service during the Korean War and the Berlin Crisis.His passion in life was the game of golf. He was proud to say at age 80, he shot that score more than once.Paul is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Westwood; grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Westwood and Zachary (Michelle) Westwood; great grandchildren, Kailee, Alex, Cassandra, Lindsay and Jesse.He was preceded in death by his son Keith who passed in 1992; his wife Virginia who passed August 27, 2005; three brothers, Myron, Bob and Don and his sister Pat.A visitation will take place Thursday, October 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH. Graveside services will be Friday, October 21, 10:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, E.
