William "Bill" John Lennartz, Jr., 88, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2005 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; of a massive heart attack. He was born on April 14, 1917 in New York City, NY; to William J. and Monica Lennartz. Bill was the oldest of five children, to whom only his youngest brother, Frank is still living.Bill worked for the U.S. Post Office in New York City until his entry into the military during World War II. Bill was a veteran of both World War II, where he rose to the rank of Captain, and the Korean War. Bill served overseas in Japan and the Phillippines. He was particularly fond of the First Calvary.In 1939 Bill married Margaret Catherine Adams. They had one son, William John Lennartz, III. Maggie and Bill retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1979. They were active in boating and square dancing. Maggie passed away in 1988, just short of their 50th, wedding anniversary. In 1991, he married Helen E. Moran of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and became an active supporter of the Republican Party. Bill was an elected Precinct Committeeman for the past ten years. He was also a member of the Lake Havasu Community Choir and the choir at St. Michael's United Methodist Church and the Parker Elks Lodge. Bill is survived by his wife Helen Moran-Lennartz; son William J. Lennartz, III of Brookings, OR; brother Frank Lennartz of Farmington, UT; step-daughter Elizabeth Nair of Capistrano Beach, CA; all of whom he dearly loved.At Bill's expressed request, there will be no public services.
