We met Larry at the Havasu Goldseekers Prospecting Club. Larry and my husband Jim started up a conversation about cars and a friendship developed. We looked forward to visiting with Larry and Becky at our meetings and at the community digs.
I was the newsletter editor for the Havasu Goldseekers for a few years, and Larry would usually have a comment for me about the newsletter. It would be a humorous comment, of course, and I looked forward to exchanging humorous remarks with him. He made me laugh countless times!
Larry was an avid gold prospector. We had "digs" once a month and Larry was usually there with his drywasher and buckets. I would walk around the dig and take photos of those attending to add to my newsletter. Larry always had a smile and a humorous comment or story for me. Larry is my favorite of all Goldseeker members and Jim and I will miss him so much!!

Larry was a huge part of my young life growing up in Payson. Traci and I spent incredible amounts of time together as teenagers & young adults, and Larry embraced me - along with all of Traci's friends - as another daughter. My parents are wonderful, but they never took me camping or fishing. I will never forget those trips up on the Rim learning how to "rough it". I remember sharing a lot of laughter with Larry and receiving the occasional (yet well-deserved) kick in the pants when I screwed up.
Larry adored Becky, and reinforced the idea that we should marry our best friend in the world. I saw so much of Larry in his two beautiful daughters. I'd like to think he & Jen are having a wonderful reunion right now.
All my love to this wonderful family. I'm so sorry there wasn't more time.

Jim Davis posted a condolence

It saddens me to learn that Larry has passed on and was living in Lake Havasu. My name is Jim Davis and I grew up with Larry in Fort Dodge, Iowa and lost track of him after my family moved to Colorado in 1962. I was told by my uncle Tom Thompson that
Larry's family was living in Phoenix and when I visited my uncle I would go to see Larry's
parents. My wife and I retired 4 years ago and have been living in Lake Havasu since then and I wish I had known Larry was here as I would have loved to have been able to
see him. Please let me know if there will be a memorial service as I would like to pay my respects and visit with the family..contact me at 720-201-6886..God Bless you all
as you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim Davis
