Obituary of Doris Jean Wilcox

Doris Jean Wilcox Doris Jean Wilcox passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona at the age of 94. She was born on March 2, 1919 to Webb and Jennie Allen in Flushing, NY. Doris worked at IBM for 23 years, retired to attend Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She moved to Lake Havasu City in 2007 to live with her son Tom and daughter-in-law Kathy Meehan. Jeans, as she preferred to be called, loved and worked geneology for her own family and other families. She was a member of numerous genealogical societies both in the U.S, England and Ireland. She was a registered member of the Daughters of The American Revolution. Jean is survived by son Thomas M. and his wife Katherine Meehan, daughter Judith A. Kish, Springfield, MA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister-in-laws Helene Allen of Sun City Center, FL and Francis Allen of Setauket, NY. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jack Meehan, sister Helen Midkiff, brothers George and Robert Allen, husbands, John Meehan, Alexander "Bus" Collard and E.D. Wilcox. Inurnment will be at a later date in Wappinger Falls, NY.
