I doubt you will remember me. I moved here in 1969, and your mom was one of the first people I met. She sold me my first horse. I was amazed at her knowledge and learned so much from her.
I'm very sorry to learn she is gone. She seemed pretty much indestructible to me.

Happy Birthday Mom I know you probably are out on the trails enjoying a nice leisurely ride through the hills above your ranch. We miss you so much but we know you are at peace. Thank you for always being there for me you were the best Mom a son could have. I just wish we could have so more time with you.
Love,
Steve

Happy Birthday Mom. We are missing you so much, especially today. I cannot believe you won't be walking through the door any minute, it feels so empty here at the ranch without you. Steve and I are trying hard to get through this, and hopefully soon our tears will turn into smiles when we think of you. Right now it is so hard, it feels like a big hole is in my heart. I thought for sure after your operation we would have you with us for at least another 20 years, it wasn't suppose to happen like this. I am so happy and honored to have called you mom. Thirty-two years ago you welcomed me into the Vaughn Family and even though I was afraid of horses, couldn't swim, you still loved
me and accepted my little quirks. We have laughed and talked to hours at times, but I still had so much to learn from you. I am so thankful we had those weeks after your surgery together. We had some fun times, although I know you were anxious to get back home to Havasu, a place you felt peace in. I told you many times how thankful I am for the wonderful son you raised. Together with the kids we will get through this, we will never forget you and that you did for our family over the years.
I hope you are having a wonderful 82 birthday celebration with the grandparents and the rest of your heavenly family. Someday, we will celebrate again together. I love you so much and I just wish I could have said it to you just one more time before you left us.

We were so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I was one of the many who got to ride her horses while in Havasu for the winter. Calie Rose and I got 6 winters out on the trail before I started bringing my own horses south. Pat was so good about sharing her expertise and animals in exchange for help in caring for them. I know that all of us who were able to do this, were more than grateful. Steven and Stephanie, you have our sincerest sympathy at this sad time!

Mom today is my birthday and I'm missing you so much. Steph and I are trying to make you proud and do the best we can. Mom I thank you for all of the sacrifices and everything thing you have done for your family. I so miss your warm loving smile, and gentle embrace. You taught me so much, how to be a good honest person, work hard and treasure your family and friends. After your surgery, we wanted you to stay in California with us so we could take care of you but in our hearts we knew you wanted to be home in Lake Havasu, this was your home. As I stand on the patio of the home you built and were so proud of; I look out at the lake and remember the hours we spent water skiing, the hills still have the sounds of our horses galloping thru the sandy wash, The warm night breeze comforts me for it brings back so many good memories and I see you sitting there looking out at your ranch, smiling and enjoying the legacy you built. I know God had a greater purpose and called you home. He will provide the strength for us to carry on; I know your are with him and will watch over your family as our angel protecting us and gently, patiently guiding us. Mom I love you so much and you will always be in my heart.
Your Son,
Steve
