Donald Lee Helmer, 65, passed away January 25, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Grant and Vesta (Scott) Helmer on March 28, 1940 in Burbank, CA.Donald proudly served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Lake Havasu 3 years ago from Chatsworth, CA where he was a maintenance mechanic for Hydro-Mill for 40 years. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling in his RV with his dear friends, Bonnie and Slim Story.Donald will be dearly missed by his three children, son, Grant Helmer of West Jordan, UT; daughters, Nora Chavez of Thousand Oaks, CA and Donna Berwick of Marysville, WA; sister, Ardel Varona of Simi Valley, CA; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lisa Smith.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.Arrangements entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
