Johnnie, as her family and friends called her, went home to her Heavenly Father on January 26, 2006, one day before her 77th birthday. She heaves behind Jim, her husband and partner of 53 years. They married on May 31, 1952. Johnnie also leaves her son, Jim (Shannon) Nafsey of Lake Havasu, her daughter, Susan Wlodkowski of Las Vegas, Nevada, grandchildren, James and Damaris Nafsey of Lake Havasu, sister-in-law Mary Otten, New York, nephew Gary (Ann) Otten, New York, their daughters Erin and Meghan, nephew Steven (Lori) Otten, Nebraska, and their children Grace and Austin.Johnnie was born and raised in Brooklyn. New York. Her parents, Henry and Agnes immigrated from Norway, and became US citizens. After graduating from high school, Johnnie worked for American Express in the Manhattan office until she married Jim. Years later, when her children were in high school, Johnnie went back to work as an executive secretary for Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery. Johnnie and Jim retired to Lake Havasu City in 1978. After a few years, Johnnie decided she wasn't ready for retiremen1 and accepted a position at Arizona State Compensation Fund. Johnnie worked in the Lake Havasu office for eight years, until she really retired in 1991. Since that time, Jim and Johnnie have enjoyed their time together visiting family and a little traveling.Although her family and friends grieve their loss, they rejoice in her homecoming.A Memorial servie will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S. McCulloch Blvd.,Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86406, on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chad Garrison officiatin.
