VIRGINIA VIOLA THOMAS
December 23, 1924 - September 14, 2013
Virginia V. Thomas passed away peacefully September 14, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and under the caring staff of Hospice of Havasu. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 23, 1924.
Virginia married her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Robert on January 31, 1942 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maspeth, NY. She was a loving wife and mother to three children. After deciding to enter the workforce once her children were grown, Virginia became an Executive Sales Representative for Carolina Freight Company and worked out of their New York office for 15 years. She received several awards for her exceptional work and dedication to the company. Virginia loved to dance and she won several dance competitions in her younger years. She and her husband, Bob, moved to Lake Havasu from Forest Hills, NY in 2002.
Virginia is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 71 years, Robert; her son Robert Thomas Jr. (Irene) of Citrus Springs, Florida; her daughter Diane Kuerner (Robert) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son John and her mother Viola Ott.
She will be deeply missed and always loved.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Virginia's name to Hospice of Havasu,PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405 or the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
