Obituary of Mitchell Fred Labuda

Labuda, Mitchell Fred, went to be with the Lord September 16, 2013, he was born February 24, 1918 in Chicago Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Aniela Labuda, and two brothers Alfred and Frank, Jr. Mitch is survived by his sister Helen Weiss of Oceanside, CA, nephew Gerald Skuipen and niece Sandra Miller, along with several grand nieces and nephews. He was a regular attendee of the Kingman Presbyterian Church as long as he was able. Mitch is a WWII Vet serving in the Army Air Core as an airplane mechanic in London. He developed a lifelong love of airplanes and on his return to the US settled in CA, later bringing his sister and family out. He was a volunteer at the San Diego Aerospace Museum working as sheet metal worker rejuvenating old planes. He was proud to be part of the team making a replica of Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis, hanging in the lobby there. Although Mitch never married, he became an avid dancer and was very popular with the ladies. He had many friends and was very involved with his sisters family. He became a carpenter, building his own house in Oregon, but too cold and wet, so back to CA for him. He was always ready to help a friend, and due to his skills was called on frequently. He moved to Kingman in 2004 when his eyesight deteriorated, but he was still involved in his hobby of buying and selling used government surplus electronic equipment. You could always find him at the senior center.
