John "Jack" Wilford Malone, 101, passed away March 26, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Peter and Amy (Gibbs) Malone on April 23, 1904 in New Castle, NE.Jack proudly served his country with the United States Army as 1st Lieutenant from October 26, 1942 to November 28, 1947, serving much of his time in the Philippines. Jack worked diligently right in to his 90's. He started working in the insurance business in 1934. From 1948 to 1973, he and his wife Doreen Malone lived in Eugene, OR, running their own company, Jack Malone Insurance.The damp weather took its toll on Doreen's health, so they did some research on Lake Havasu City on a McCulloch "fly out" and decided to relocate in 1973. After a year of "living the life of Riley", Jack decided it was time to go back to work and went to Bourne and Gale Insurance. Working with people was the highlight of Jack's day.During the Christmas holidays in 1928, Jack met his future bride, Doreen Humphrey. Threes years later, on July 13, 1931, Jack and Doreen became one. After 71 years of marriage, he lost his best friend on November 14, 2002.Jack leaves behind one brother, Dennis Malone of Dana Point, CA and one sister, Josephine Handel of California.A celebration of Jack's life will be held Wednesday, April 5, 10:30 AM at Prestige Assisted Living, 90 S. Smoketree, Lake Havasu City, AZ.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.Arrangements entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
