Robert Joseph Snyder, 84
Robert Joseph Snyder, 84, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. He was so proud of his family and loved them with all his heart. Robert is survived by his daughter, Catherine, his son, Robert, Jr., his granddaughter, Kayla, son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Linda, his children's mother, Elizabeth, and Pennsylvania family including Joe and John Breslin.
Lovingly known as ,Bob, by his friends, he loved to play golf, fly his airplane, play the drums, and wrote a golf book, How To Make It To The Top. He enjoyed writing letters to the editor for the Lake Havasu City News-Herald. One year, he became known as ,Bobby Chip Seal, using his engineering expertise to express his opinions about chip seal and slurry seal. A song was even written about Bobby Chip Seal and played on local radio.
Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA. Bob was proud to be a Veteran and served as Airman First Class in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He was Public Works Director for Tempe, Arizona, and Owner and President of Flex-Paving and Engineering.
Bob loved to make friends and even complete strangers smile. He had a special way of making people laugh and enjoy life. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. In his later years, his relationship with Jesus became very important to him.
Graveside services with military honors will be held for Robert Snyder at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, Arizona, Friday, October 4, 2013 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quiet Time Ministries, P.O. Box 14007, Palm Desert, CA 92255.
