Obituary of Carita UNDERWOOD

Carita Elizabeth Underwood, 77, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ; after an extended battle with cancer. She was born on January 8, 1929 in Elkhorn, WI; to Arthur and Estella Pearl French.Carita was raised in Wisconsin and Illinois. In 1945 she moved with her parents to Riverside, CA. Carita married LeRoy Underwood on June 22, 1947 in Quartzite, AZ. They relocated to Lancaster, CA; in 1953, where they lived until 1994. During her career as a bookkeeper, Carita worked for Riverside Hay Growers and Antelope Valley Cattle and Milling Co. She raised 3 daughters, Karon, Deborah and Starla and 1 son, Michael.In 1994 Carita and Leroy moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; where she lived until her death. Carita is survived by her husband LeRoy, daughters Karon Cowan and husband Michael of Colorado Springs, CO; Deborah Cleare of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Starla Rae Underwood of Apple Valley, CA; sisters Bernita Janke of Wapato, WA; Aletah Comstock and husband Richard of Arlington, TX; granddaughters, Jennifer Davis and husband Shannon, Stephanie Monticelli and husband Craig, Shelly Klure and husband Matt, Rebekah Marshall and husband Robert, and grandson Scott Richardson and wife Theresa; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 1 sister and her son Michael.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Sunday April 23, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Todd officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, her family request donations be made in Carita's name to the Susan G.
