Violet Floe of Lake Havasu City, AZ, passed away June 16, 2006. She was born on August 23, 1915 in Warroad, MN to Otto and Christina Kofstad. At a young age she began singing and performing. She studied voice and opera and also played piano. After graduating from Warroad High School, she went to Minneapolis, MN to continue her voice training. It was there that she met William Floe and they married on June 13, 1938. She and Bill moved to Detroit, MI. It was there that they had their first daughter, Barbara. Shortly after Barbara was born they moved to Texas where Bill had Army Basic Training. When Bill was sent to France, Violet returned to Minnesota. When Bill was honorably discharged from the Army, they moved to California. In California they had their second daughter, Janet. Even though Violet didn't perform anymore, she did perform for her family. Every family get-together would find Violet playing piano and singing for a very appreciative audience, her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and also her friends loved her singing and her piano concerts just for them. Violet had 9 grandchildren, Candace, Randall, Edward and Dawn Saas, and Joseph, Janaree, Jennifer, William and Jonathan Benitez. She also had 12 great grandchildren, Randy Jr., Samantha and Jacob Saas, Trista Saas, Joseph Kennedy, Kyrsten and Christopher Dorssey, Kirsten and Jered Wrischnik, Violet Benitez, and Jason and McKayla Benitez. Violet worked as a certified nurse assistant and really loved her patients. After she and Bill retired they moved to Parker, AZ and then to Lake Havasu City, AZ. Violet loved Lake Havasu and enjoyed her view of the lake, sunrises and sunsets. She and Bill also loved to entertain extensively and this included great times on their pontoon boat.She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her daughter Barbara and her granddaughter Candace. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sister, Andrew, Leonard, Nels, Albin, Lawrence, Eugene Kofstad and Edla Remmel. She was also preceded in death by her beloved nieces and nephews, including Susan Floe, Tom Floe, Donna Hamilton and Myron Kofstad, amongst others.Violet is survived by her daughter, Janet Floe-Benitez; grandchildren, Randall Saas and Christine his wife, Edward Saas, Dawn Tuipulotu and her husband Lepi, Joseph Benitez and his wife Cheryl, Janaree Dorssey, Jennifer Wrischnik and her husband Jerry, William Benitez and Jonathan Benitez. She is also survived by her 12 great grandchildren, already named above. There is also another grandchild that is expected in approximately 6 months due to Dawn and Lepi. Violet was aware of this before she passed on and was quite happy.She is also survived by her beloved son-in-law, Dale Saas. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews including Martha Haugen and her husband Don, Roger Kofstad and his wife, Susan, Susan Kober and her husband Jack, Jean Johnson and her husband Jerry, Clarice and Raleigh Holsem, Carol Kofstad, Donna Stinson, Ethel and Dick Lawson, Marion Beattie, Jim Floe, Vivian Floe, Easton Floe, Dick and Carma Johnson, Helen and Craig Davies, Pattie and Rick Sowers and several others which if we named every one, it would take the whole newspaper page. She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Elsie Burns.A Celebration of Life, Memorial Service will be held on June 24th at 10:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
