I'm thinking of Scott, and Seth, and family. Mr. Dave Townsend is a name I have remembered very fondly throughout all my years. I will always remember Boy Scouts with Mr. Townsend. I always have, and always will enjoy my memories of his easygoing nature. Thanks for how you contributed to others. God Bless your family.

My deepest condolences to all of Dave's family. The best that can be said for how a man lives his life is that he will be missed by many. My son Cullen is finishing his degree in secondary education and commented that he wanted to be a teacher the caliber of Mr. Townsend.

Thank you to each and everyone of you who left a tribute to my brother, Dave. He would have been touched and honored to hear your comments and would have been surprised by his impact on each of you. He was so humble and loved all those he met and knew. He found good in all he did and all people who touched his life. Thank you for sharing your memories - it has helped us all who feel the loss so deeply. His life was so very full and he lived each and every day to the fullest. He was never idle and loved life. I imagine he now is teaching in heaven sharing his gifts with all the other angels.
Thanks.

Mr. T was my son Bryan and Kenny Bird's 4th grade teacher. What a difference he made in their lives and education. When a fellow mom at Nautilus said to me there should be no male teachers, I couldn't have disagreed any more. He was the perfect teacher at that particular time in their lives. Both are successful and I attribute it to Mr. T. It was an honor and pleasure to have known him.

Well let me tell you I did and never stopped, especially when a man larger than life telling you. I am now a US Navy Chief of 15 years, not to mention a Nuclear Engineer for the navy. Thank you Mr. T. You are loved, and will be missed. I know in my soul that you are looking down proud of the thousands of lives you molded, to include me and my sister.
I send my love and support from my family in Virginia to yours.

So sorry for your loss. He was my daughter's favorite teacher. As a colleague, I admired him so much for his fondness for his students and the way he challenged them.

I knew David when I was a friend of his sister, Kathie. We belonged in the Methodist Youth Fellowship group at the Methodist Church in Claremont. David would give me a ride home from our meetings & I remember him as being a great person, a fun person & a kind older brother to his sister. I send my condolences to his family & Kathie.

As children in Claremont, NH, we often played baseball in the "triangle" between So. Street and Chestnut St. as well as after school football games in the neighborhood.
After all these years, I remember that David was always kind and gentle, but a good playmate.
It is very obvious that "Mr. T" continued this kindness and gentleness throughout his adult life.
To his family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss of this kind, gentle man. If our world were represented by individuals with David's attitudes and beliefs toward their fellow man, what a better place it would be.
Rest in peace, Mr. T.

I first met David when our family moved to Claremont, NH when I was in the 7th grade. We were in some classes together at the Claremont Junior High School and at Stevens High School. Although we weren't close friends, I remember David as being a very pleasant fellow. He was friendly and kind to everyone and usually smiling. One of the nicest guys in the class. So very sorry for your loss.

I was lucky to finish my teaching career with Dave as one of my teammates and then continue with church activities after that. My daughter, one of his former students, said it best. " All I know is his support and influence will be part of me and I hope to spread "him" to others with that same gift.
