Dallas Orval Coulter, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, surrounded by family holding his hands as he left. He was born to Speed Dallas and Addie Pearl (Allen) Coulter on September 13, 1919 in Lebanon, KY.Dallas married the love of his life, Betty Hoesman in February 1950 in Columbus, IN and combined their families making the total of six children, which was followed by two more, making it truly a "yours, mine and ours" household. Dallas served his country during WWII in the United States Navy, stationed in Dallas, TX.In 1956 he moved his family to Riverside, CA to a dryer climate for health reasons. It was quite an adventurous trip in those days, with all those children.Dallas worked for and retired from Menasha container Corp. of Anaheim, CA. Over the years he collected 78 RPM records and left a collection of over 5000 records, which he was always happy to play for anyone that would listen. Dallas was a lifetime member of the American Legion. In 1971 he retired and he and Betty moved to Landers, CA for the clean air and blue skies. In 1992 they moved to Lake Havasu City to be closer to one of their daughters after losing their home to an earthquake.He was a member of the Lakeview Community Church for many years.Dallas is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 56 years, Betty; daughters, Maxine (Richard) Hazen, Janice (Jim) McDaniel, Doris (Duane) Nash, Glenna (Robert) Headd, Niki Buss, Kay Coykendall, Rita Tanner; son, David (Jojo) Coulter; his youngest brother, Walter Coulter; twenty-six grandchildren, Richard Jr., Tabatha, Aurora, Mary, Paul, Wayne, Wyatt, Roger, Bonnie, Richard, Brenda, Thomas, Angela, Tonya, Larry, Suzanne, Jerry, Timothy, Kimberly, Todd, Christina, Terry Allen, David Jr., Sheena, Lynette and Edward; 57 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, one sister, an infant son, and his friend, Bubba.Dallas was loved by all.
