Obituary of Richard NELSON

Richard A. Nelson, 78, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on October 31, 1927 in Detroit, MI.Richard moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; 20 years from St. Clair Shores, MI. After graduation from high school, he went onto college to study engineering. He worked as an Analyst for Standard Oil in Southfield, MI; for 25 years. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. Richard was a charter member and past president of the London Bridge Lions Club and also an active member of Lake Havasu Baptist Church.Richard is survived by his daughter Tammy Lynn Simon and husband Mike, nephews Robert Nelson and wife Ilene, David Nelson and wife Marianne, Steven Nelson and wife Marlene, Gary Nelson and wife Elizabeth, Frederick Nelson and wife Amber and granddaughter Mary Marie Simon. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Jane Nelson who passed away in 1993 after a battle of 4 years with cancer.Visitation will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, AZ.
