James Willard Wattenbarger, 81, passed away August 14, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Eligha and Mae (Starnes) Wattenbarger on April 26, 1925 in Baileyton, TN.James married his best friend Mary Ballew on April 26, 1979. He lived in Corona, CA for 44 y ears and his last 12 years were in Lake Havasu. He served his country during World War II under the direction of the United States Navy from August 4, 1943 to March 20, 1946. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific area and the American area serving on the USS Art 73 as a Ship Fitter Third Class USNR. He proudly earned the Victory Medal. James worked as a floor man for Finley Oil Well Service in Long Beach, CA for 6 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0328 in Norco, CA. James is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Mary; daughters, Janis (Jerry) Wilson of Des Moines, IA and Judy (Larry) Martin of Lake Havasu; stepson, Paul (Carrie) Bradley of Anaheim Hills, CA; stepdaughter, Pam (Sam) Powers) of Mira Loma, CA; sisters, Ruby Pickens of Rock Hill, SC and Patricia (Roy) Lane of Lake Havasu; grandson, Joshua (Natalie) Martin of Fountain Valley, CA; granddaughters, Sheri (Terry) Ober of Indianola, IA and Sandi (Dan) Mouzakis of Carlisle, IA; step-grandson, Justin Bradley of Yorba Linda, CA; step-granddaughter, K.C. Bradley of Yorba Linda, CA; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A visitation will be held Thursday, August 17, 2006, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 18, 2006, 3:00 pm at Pierce Brothers-Crestlawn Cemetery in Riverside, CA.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com
