Edward J. Mustatia, 87, 1st Lieutenant, US Army, 7th Armored Division, 814th Tank Destroyer Battalion, peacefully entered into rest at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ; on Sunday, September 3, 2006. He was born on August 16, 1919 in Hamtramck, MI; to Nickolas and Pauline Mustatia and was one of five children.Edward was a 13 year resident of Lake Havasu City, AZ; moving from Port Hadlock WA. He was a Veteran of the Invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge, World War II. Edward was the author of "World War II and Heartache and Glory". He joined the CCC's at age 15. Edward married Bobbie in 1966 in Riverside, CA. He built their dream home for Bobbie in Port Hadlock, WA; in 1979. Edward was Post Commander of V.F.W. Post 7498 in Port Hadlock WA; for 6 years and a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Beloved Father, Inspiration, Hero and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.Edward is survived by his sons, Stephen V. Sloan of Bremerton, WA; Marshall S. Sloan of Fullerton, CA; Russell T. Sloan of Dillon Beach, CA; Corey A. Sloan of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters, Sharon Dillon of Reno, NV; Patricia L. Martin and Candace N. Clark both of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sisters, Irene Tate of South Bend, IN; Carol Ketchum of Milford, MI; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bobbie who passed away in 2002.A memorial service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Honor Guards provided by the V.F.W. Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81. Interment will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
