Obituary of Gwendolyn Pearl Muncy

Gwendolyn Pearl Muncy (Gwennie Pearl) of Lake Havasu City. AZ. is now and forever with Gerald Mundy, the love of her life, and her favorite dance partner. Gwen passed in her sleep on September 30, 2013 at Prestige Assisted Living-Expressions, as she dreamt about healthier and happier times with the ones she loved. Gwen was the light of many peoples' lives and she always said, "I love you" to everyone she connected with. That love of people, conversation and having fun was what made her special to so many, despite being afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by her daughter, Melody Mundy, of North Bend, WA and her son, Michael Mundy, of Port Orchard, WA, her daughter, Michele Kirkpatrick, of Lake Havasu City, her son-in-law, Robert Kirkpatrick, of lake Havasu City, her daughter- in- law, Debra Saldivar-Muncy, of Port Orchard, her daughter-in-law, Nancy Kirkpatrick, of Lake Havasu City and her incredible big sister, Lita Dean Reid , who tirelessly and selflessly looked after and protected Gwen throughout her life. The Alzheimer's/Dementia Connection of Havasu provided Gwen's family, friends and caregivers with support and education about dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Gwen would not have received the the high level of care and her family would not have had the in-depth understanding of the disease if it were not for the Alzheimer's/Dementia Connection of Havasu. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Havasu, the Hospice of Havasu transitions program, and the exceptional caregivers at Prestige Assisted Living-Expressions (Joyce, Esther, Samantha, Sara, Summer, Cecilia, Greg, Denise, Shauntelle, and the night crew) for taking such good care of her in her last days on this earth. You were all very special to her and to her family. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer's/Dementia Connection of Havasu are appreciated and will be used to educate those in our community about Alzheimer's and dementia.
