Hugh "Don" Shockley 84, passed away September 19, 2006 at Lake Havasu Community Hospital with his daughters and his care giver at his side. Don was born May 12, 1922 to Lois De Nio and Hugh Bert Shockley in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a young boy he moved to California. Don later served in the Army during World War II earning a Bronze Star and receiving a Purple Heart. After the war, Don earned a degree in engineering from USC and worked for many years as an engineer in Southern California finally retiring in 1987 from A & A Associates Inc. where he was Vice President.Don and his late wife, Evelyn moved to Lake Havasu City Arizona in 1989 where they enjoyed boating, fishing, the beauty of the desert and the company of their friends. Don is survived by his daughters, Lynne Richmond of Lakewood, California, Holly King of Santa Barbara, California, his step-son Jim Miller of Maui, Hawaii, his grandsons, Nathan, Jeremy and Lucas Richmond and his grand-daughter Cayley Cruickshank. We his family are grateful for the love and care Carol Merritt gave to our Dad and Grandpa these past few years.
