Warren "John" Hegelmeyer, passed away October 14, 2006 after a lengthy bout with COPD. He was born to Warren and Helen (Wisch) Hegelmeyer on February 5, 1929 in Jamesville, WIJohn and his wife, Diana moved to Lake Havasu in 1989 retiring as lieutenant with the California Department of Corrections. While in Lake Havasu he was active with the Chamber of Commerce, receiving the coveted Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004. John was an avid fisherman and active member of the Lake Havasu City Elks Organization. He won numerous trophies in the Grove's Fishing Tournaments. John was also a retired veteran of the United States Navy where he served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a Corpsman.John is survived by his wife of 48 yeas, Diana; children, Terri and her husband Tracy Halbash of Phoenix, AZ, John Hegelmeyer of Los Angeles, CA, David and his wife Michelle Hegelmeyer of Crescent City, CA and Judy and her husband Eliot Hewitt of Tehachapi, CA. He is also survived by six grandchildren and a brand new great grandchild.Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006, 11:00 am at the BPOE Lodge #2399.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 102 West McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.Memories and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
