Richard L. Canady of Lake Havasu City, AZ passed away on October 15, 2006 at his home.Richard was born on February 7, 1922 in Webb City, Missouri to William Canady and Pauline (Googe) Canady. He was married to Elnora (Johnson) Canady for 40 years.A veteran of World War II, Richard served in the Army and fought on the beaches of Japan. His work as a salesman for the Joplin Piano Company brought him to Lake Havasu where he retired for 29 years. Richard was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Richard is survived by his loving wife Elnora; his daughter, Janice Martin and her husband Al of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nephews, Randy Cartright and his wife, Maryanne and their son of Santa Ana, CA and Rick Cartright and his wife Maria and their four children of Lake Havasu.Richard was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and one sister.Richard enjoyed all children and took joy in the candor of their words. He loved a good joke, socializing with friends, driving his car, and chocolates, especially Tootsie Rolls. Richard's greatest love was for his family. He was a caring husband, loving father, grandfather and uncle. Richard has been a blessing to his family. Though his presence will be missed so very much, his memory will forever remain with his family.A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006, 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 South McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City.
