John Anthony Collins, 78, passed away with his loving wife of 56 years Mary beside him, on Thursday, October 19, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on May 8, 1928 in New York City, NY; to John and Margaret (Gottlieb) Collins.Before moving to Lake Havasu City, AZ; from Long Island, NY; 32 years ago, John worked for Bankers Trust in New York, NY; for 25 years. He also worked in sales for Clay Pools True Value Hardware Store in Lake Havasu City, AZ; for 10 years. John loved his country and was proud to serve in the U.S. Navy, followed by 3 years in the U.S Army with the 5th, RTC in Korea. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 9401, Korean War Veterans Assoc; and 5th, R.C.T.Assoc. John had a strong love for God, his country and his family. He is survived by his wife Mary Collins, sons, John Collins and wife Marion of CO; Michael Collins and wife Margie of AZ; daughters, Kathleen Moon and husband George of NY; Mary Simpkins and husband Henry of NY; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, his family request donations be made in John's name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O.
