Obituary of Jeffrey LOPEZ

Jeffrey Scott Lopez, died Sunday evening October 22 at 10:45in a tragic auto accident. Jeffrey is survived by his mother Gayle Swetow, brother Jon, daughter Samantha, son Trey, and fiancé Lori Smith. Jeffrey was an avid sports enthusiast participating in pickup football games, boating, bird hunting, golfing, weight training and manyother pursuits. He was never at a loss with what to do with his spare time. Jeffrey was a Pop Warner coach and volunteered weekly at his son's school as a teacher's aide. Jeffrey was a professional dad who loved children, all children, regardless of whom they were. Jeffrey was a correctional peace officer at the Ironwoodfacility in Blythe California. Jeffrey was much loved and admired by his fellow officers, and uncharacteristically, by many of the inmates. Jeffrey's reputation at work was slow to anger and quick to negotiate and reconciliation. Jeffrey was artistic and belying his outer appearance, a closet jazz listener. He will be missed by his large extended family and thosewho knew him.Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2006, 11:00 am at Lietz-Fraze Chapel.
