Robert R. Graham II, 67, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at his home in Lake Haves City, AZ. He was born on May 19, 1939 in San Diego, CA. Bob's family moved to Spring Valley in 1947. He attended school at Spring Valley Elementary, La Mesa Jr. High and graduated from Grossman High School in 1957. Bob served two years in the U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton in CA. He competed successfully in oval track racing cars and held a boat racing title in Washington State. He also competed in several rodeo events and enjoyed fishing and NASCAR races. Bob was an entrepreneur and inventor. He was self-employed most of his life and worked in all phases of general building professions, rock crushing and mining operations. From 1976 to 1983, Bob designed and built 11 tuna boats. Many in Lakeside and Chula Vista, CA; will remember the transporting of the big tuna boats down the freeways of San Diego, CA., to the port of launching. At the same time, Bob designed and patented the hydraulic fishing machines used on these and other tuna boats. From 1983 to 1987, Bob started a precious metal extraction company for both surface and underground mining operations, at which time he designed, constructed and permitted a closed-loop leaching system for recovery of precious metals. In 1988 to date, Bob consulted on projects for Geo-Earth Resources. He was currently working on a process to aid the oil industry. Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge #2269 in Lake Haves City, AZ.
