Obituary of Gerald LUND

Gerald Lund, 72, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on May 20, 1934 in Mancelona, MI., to Oscar and Leotha Lund.Jerry moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ., twelve years ago from San Diego, CA. He served in the U.S. Army. In 1956 he was stationed in Fort Leonard, Wood, MO., for basic training, then to Fort Lewis, WA., and over seas duty for a year at Fort Richardson, AK.Jerry married Shirley Schneider in 1956, daughter of Sam and Edna Schneider who owned a 40 acre farm outside of Mancelona, MI., where they raised three daughters. He worked twelve years at Mount Clement Medal Projects. Jerry then went into training as a Psychiatric Technician, working at Traverse City State Hospital, eventually moving his family to Traverse City, MI. In 1975, the family moved to San Diego, CA., and there he worked at Mesa Vista Psychiatric Hospital until his retirement in 1994. Jerry enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his dad for many years. He also enjoyed boating and water skiing and after retirement he continued boating and was an avid CB'er.Jerry is survived by his loving wife Shirley Lund, daughters Teresa Bertram of El Cajon, CA; Brenda Lund of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Michelle Cole of Temecula, CA; and five grandchildren, three boys and two girls living in California and Oklahoma.
