Obituary of David VANDERMATE

David Lee VanderMate, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 22, 2006 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on December 11, 1948 in Grand Rapids, MI., to Michael and Dorothy VanderMate.David served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam. He was a mechanic for 25 years; he then retired to pursue his dream as a songwriter and craftsman. David's passions in life included his family, his music and pride in his workmanship.David now rests with his father Michael VanderMate. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 29 years, Vickie VanderMate, mother Dorothy VanderMate, sons, Fred Sannipoli and wife Janet, Paul Sannipoli; daughters, Shawndee Yenche and husband Eric, Crystal Gilbert and husband Kelly, brothers, Mike, Jim and Steve VanderMate, sisters, Janis Tussing, Laura Boyer and grandchildren, Amber, Cameron, Marissa, Taeya, Josefina, Seven and Kendra.David was a thoughtful and caring friend, a loving husband and devoted father. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him.Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Katherine Kenney officiating.
