John Arthur Patton passed away on September 5, 2015 at 99 years of age in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to John and Cecil Patton on May 11, 1916 in South Haven, KS. He was married to Gretchen LaVaughn LaMar on October 7, 2000 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. They enjoyed 15 years of a loving and caring marriage.
John served in the Navy during February 1936 to April 1940; Army Honorable Discharge on July 1941; May 1942 - May 1945. He was trained as an electrician in the Navy. John retired in 1980 from the electrical construction field and worked part-time at Alpha Pool Company until 2000. He was a master woodworker, Bible teacher, and all-around handyman. He was always willing to lend his considerable skills and talents to help others. He was a member of Lake Havasu Baptist Church, Havasu Christian Church, and National Electric Benefit.
John is survived by his wife, Gretchen LaVaughn Patton; granddaughter, Brianna Patton; and step-daughter, Debra Weger of Lake Havasu City, AZ. His sons, Nicholas Patton of Phoenix, AZ and Phillip Patton; daughter, Judy Vaubel of San Angelo, TX. Step-children, Randy (Ela) Weger, Grand Rapids, MI; Marc (Cindy) Robinson of Northfield, MN; and Mavis (Dan) Hiegel, Flower Mound, TX; along with 13 grand-children and 3 great grand-children. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Alta Patton; daughter, Patricia Patton Beamer; siblings, Idotha Cottle, LeVeta Patton, and Charles Patton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, October 12 at 1:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Reception will follow at the Patton residence.
