Obituary of Linda CORRINGTON

Linda Joy Corrington died January 3, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ., after a short illness. She was born on October 23, 1952 to John and Frankie Roberts in Newark, N.J.Linda graduated high school in Sioux City, Iowa. She then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, where she served for 24 years, retiring in 1993 as Gunnery Sergeant. Linda's military career included "boot camp" in Paris Island, S.C., she was then stationed in Twenty-nine Palms, CA., then sent to USMCRD, San Diego, CA; and did tours as a recruiter in Boston. She was also assigned to Camp Pendleton, CA, and served in Okinawa, JapanLinda married Douglas Neil Corrington April 1979, who was in the United States Navy. They combined a two military career, living in Woonsocket, R.I., and San Diego, CA., while both were on various assignments during their military life.After retirement Linda obtained an Associate Degree in Education, from San Jacinto Junior College. Linda was a woman of great faith in the Lord and received much joy in prayer and worship as a member of Calvary Chapel in Murrieta, CA. She was known for being a "giving and loving" woman, always available to those who needed help.Linda moved to Lake Havasu City in November to join her husband. She was planning to work with him in his business, Hav-A-Sign, LLP.Linda leaves her husband, Neil, children Rachel, studying at San Jose University, CA., Justine, studying at Cal State, San Bernardino, CA, and Reginald, studying at San Jacinto College in Menifee, CA.; 3 sisters, many nieces and nephews and her mother-in-law, Carolyn Bruce who resides in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents.Linda chose to donate her body to International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine for continued research in the cure for cancer and other diseases.Memorial services will be held at a later date in Murrieta, CA.Condolences and thoughts can be made to her family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
