Obituary of Jean GIBBS

Jean Elizabeth Gibbs, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2007, in Graham, Texas.Jean was born on March 5, 1922, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the Late George Bennet and Geneva (Kirby) Faber.She married Leonard Chester Gibbs on January 17, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1991.She was a substitute teacher and a bookkeeper for Alexandria Public Schools in Virginia. Jean served two terms as president and clerk for the Lake Havasu City School Board. She was a member of Republican Women, Eastern Star, Marine Corps League, Extension Club in Lake Havasu City.Jean moved to Graham in 2001 and joined First United Methodist Church, she was a member of Kum Duble Sunday School Class and enjoyed going to Crestview School and listening to children read to her.Survivors include her daughter Linda (Jim) Williams of Graham; brother George (Shirlee) Faber of Brea, California; granddaughters Kathy Gibbs of Phoenix, Dawn Rice of North Richland Hills and Renee (Todd) Treat of Fort Worth; great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Kristen Rice of North Richland Hills.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday January 18, 2007, in the First United Methodist Church.
