O.D. "Bud" Echols, 75, passed away February 16, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to O.D. and Margaret (Bailey) Echols on April 22, 1931 in Atlanta, GA.Bud was raised in Cobb County, GA. He was known as the class "cut-up". He proudly served his country under the direction of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and also the United States Army during peacetime. Bud worked as a transportation manager for Domtar Industrial in Atlanta, GA for 14 years. He was a member of the Elks, Moose Lodge, Eagles and the Yacht Club. He loved his friends and his companion Derry. His friends say "Bud has been promoted to glory".Bud leaves behind his dear friends, Dave and Donna Ewing and Margy Sterling, all of Lake Havasu.He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life Mary Echols.A visitation will be held Monday, February 19, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, February 20, 2007, 2:00 pm, also at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.Donations may be made in Bud's name to Prestige Assisted Living at Smoketree, c/o Expressions Unit, 90 Smoketree Ave. South, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
