Obituary of Verna Selinda Elenora Matlock

Verna Selinda Elenora Matlock passed away on September 9, 2015 at 98 years of age in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born to Mary and August H. Hendrickson on May 13, 1917 in Bryant, SD and raised in northern ND on a farm. She was married to George A. Matlock on August 31, 1946 in Glendale, CA. Verna had an ornamental glass manufacturing business in Glendale, CA; she was very artistic. She was a very living and loving person. She enjoyed be outdoors and working in the yard. She loved Lake Havasu City, visiting her friends and relatives. She had been a "Rosie the Riveter" in Glendale, CA and she was an Elketta at the Lake Havasu City Lodge. Verna is survived by her brother, Clifford Hendrickson of Glendale, CA as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Matlock; parents, Mary (Jurmu) and August H. Hendrickson; sisters, Mayme Saari, Vienna Clark, Shirley Huovinen, Goldie Herrala, Irene Nurmi, Violet Savaloja, Velma Pikkarainen; brother, Ray Hendrickson, Stuart Hendrickson and Milton Hendrickson. A visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 15th with a funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. Final resting place will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
