Dearest Dad, John & Paula and Family:
My heart aches for your loss! There are no words that can express what The Lord only knows. Her passing is so bittersweet. It's so very hard to let go of such a loving, giving & gracious lady, but The Lord loved her enough to take her pain away & take her to our eternal home to be with Him. One day, when it's all our own time to go, you can find comfort in knowing we will see Darlene again.
I so enjoyed getting to know Darlene during a few summers when she joined Dad at his home on the lake in Donnelly, ID. I enjoyed the occasional times when I joined them at church there, but especially there at their home on the lake. I can't explain it, but I felt a special connection with Darlene, be it that we were "sisters in The Lord" or just sharing some special moments with her. I remember shedding tears of gratitude when she gave me 3 scarves that she had crocheted. I remember trying to make a choice of just one, but I was torn between 3 that she showed me. Well the loving & giving person that she was, overwhelmed me when she gave all 3 scarves to me. I wore them with great joy & I always received many compliments on them. They will be even more special now.
I pray that as all of you will feel The Lord's presence during this especially difficult time. Lays know that when you feel Darlene's presence as you remember her, she's no doubt smiling from Heaven!
With Sincere Sympathy,
Chris Koeberlein
