Richard Elmer Anderson12-12-28 to 4-1-07Richard, 78, died peacefully in his sleep Sunday morning at home with his wife, Doris. They were childhood sweethearts, and were married over 58 years. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.He was born in Chicago, IL in 1928, the first son of Elmer and Margaret Anderson. He had one brother, Reinhold.Richard and Doris met when he was in Demolay and she was in Jobs Daughters, at age 15. In 1948 they married and continued to live in Chicago until 1954 when they moved to Phoenix, AZ, then on to California, where he continued to work as a Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer for 42 years. They lived in Hacienda Heights, CA for 26 years and in 1992, retired to Prescott, AZ. In 2003 they moved to Lake Havasu to be near family.After Demolay, Richard became a Mason, and over the years participated in many organizations. In Prescott he enjoyed teaching Sunday school, and was an active member of the Lions.His parents, Nels Elmer and Margaret K. Anderson, and his brother, Reinhold Sven Anderson, preceded him in death.He is survived by his wife, Doris Anderson, and their three children, Karen McShea and her husband Mike, of Lake Havasu City, AZ., Kirk Anderson and his wife Wendy, of Ontario, CA., and Kristine Passalacqua and her husband David, of Benicia, CA. He also had five grandchildren, Kimberly List and her husband Paul, Ricky McShea, Brandon Anderson, Brent Anderson, and Jennifer Passalacqua. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Emily List, Abby List and Myla Anderson.Services will be held at Mt Olive Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 5th, at11:OO am. Friends and family are welcome to come back to the Andersons' home following the service. In 1ieu of flowers, donations may be given in Richards name to the Mt Olive Lutheran Church Education and Youth Fund.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
