JOHN T. (JACK) BECKIUS John T. (Jack) Beckius passed away peacefully at home October 20, 2013. John was born in Chicago on March 26, 1933 to Ada and Leon Beckius. John graduated from Schurz High School in January of 1951. Two years later, in 1953 John entered the Army. He proudly served as a Military Policeman at Fort Bliss (El Paso Texas) before being transferred in November of 1954 to Frankfurt, Germany. Starting in 1956, John spent 35 years working as a Traffic Manager for various companies in the Transportation and World Trade fields, retiring in 1991 from United Conveyor Corporation. He was a member of the Chicago Traffic Club and Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity. His love of gardening lead him to become a long time member and president of the Men's Garden Club of Libertyville, Illinois. John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joanne. John & Joanne have three children, Susan (Dennis) Blevins of Gilbert, Arizona, Sharon (Mike) Mikich of Las Vegas, Nevada and John Jr. (Angela) of Fishers, Indiana; brother Ronald (Evelyne) of San Antonio, Texas and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane (Behrens) & granddaughter Dana Beckius. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Michaels Methodist Church on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu.
