Allan Lee Mayes, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, left for heaven on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 and will be deeply missed. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Nowata, OK. After school, Al joined the U.S. Marine Corp., where he stayed for 20 years as a Gy Sgt. He met his wife, Jan of 51 years while in the Marines and together they traveled the country and raised 4 boys. After retiring from the Marines, Al and Jan opened an auto garage and gas station in Tustin, CA. They moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ., from Corona, CA; in 1996. Al was in involved with the Desert Hawks R.C. Club. He also loved to go fishing, camping, play with his dogs, and continued to love to travel with his trailer.Al is survived by his wife Jan; sons, Rick Mayes of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Robert Mayes (Debbie) of Stover, MO; Kenneth Mayes (Toni) of Laguna Nigel, CA; Brian Mayes of Garden Grove, CA; brother Robert Mayes (Zoe) of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeanette, Nicholas, Allan, Amanda, Melody, Thomas and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Word of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Chad Garrison.In lieu of flowers, his family has requested donations be made in Al's name to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1605 S.
