Lawrence Erwin Lockard Sr., 70, passed away June 6, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Erwin and Jeraldine (Riley) Lockard on May 3, 1937 in Sparta, MI.Larry married his best friend, Sandra Dahl on August 3, 1963 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 7 years ago from Cedar Springs, MI. He served his country proudly under the direction of the United States Navy. Larry was a graphic artist for WOTV, Channel 8 in Grand Rapids, MI for over 35 years. He was a past member of the carving club and attended First Southern Baptist Church.Larry enjoyed wood working and liked art work. He was a devoted Christian who loved listening to spiritual music and scripture reading. He was a huge hockey fan of the Red Wings from Michigan. He had an interest in most sports and was very active with his grandchildren's sports activities. Larry will be deeply missed by his family and friends.Larry leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Sandy Lockard; sons, Lawrence Lockard Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI and Jason Lockard of Cedar Springs, MI; daughter Leigh Ann (Randy) Lockard-Anderson of Lake Havasu; brother, Douglas (Marie) Lockard of Sparta, MI; sister, Sharon (Harold) Emmons of Spring Lake, MI and six grandchildren.A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2007, 2:00 pm at First Southern Baptist Church.Donations may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 113 N.
