Lorin Edward Donaldson, a long time resident of Lake Havasu, passed away June 13, 2007. He was born on December 25, 1912 to Orville and Edna Donaldson.His youth was spent in Northwest Iowa in the small town of Milford, IA. He graduated from high school in 1931. Following high school, he worked in the local weekly newspaper and printing. At the age of 21, Lorin moved to California and worked in the printing shops in Glendale, CA, eventually starting his own print shop, "Donaldson Printing" in La Crescenta, CA.After 14 years, he sold his shop in California and in 1972 moved to Lake Havasu City and started Donaldson Instant Printing. He soon became a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was involved in the affairs of Havasu. Lorin also joined the Elks Lodge 2399 (becoming an Exalted Ruler), was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Score, Eagles, and was a charter member of the Golden K Kiwanis. He also was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church. Lorin's favorite hobbies were fishing, boating, he excelled in playing cards, gardening and collecting rare coins.As Lorin continues on the next leg of his journey, his spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.Lorin leaves behind his loving wife, Doris; sons, Lynn and Bert Donaldson; daughter, Joyce Pearson; stepdaughter, Bonnie Barnard; sister, Doris Hemphill; four grandchildren, many great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.A Lodge of Sorrow will be conducted by the Elks Lodge 2399 on Saturday, June 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
