Obituary of Carlos Fierro

Carlos Fierro, passed away on September 15, 2015 at 84 years of age in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Jose and Soledad Fierro on May 5, 1931 in El Paso, TX.
Carlos has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for General Motors in South Gate, CA for 30 years where he met his beautiful wife, Marguerite "Peggy" Sorg and they were married on July 9, 1974 at the Chapel of Bells in Las Vegas, NV. They shared 43 happy years together.
Carlos enjoyed Bible study and reading scripture very much. He liked to play horseshoes and enjoyed playing football with his nephews. He was a greeter at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and was known for his smile, firm handshake and warm hugs. He also loved to travel.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church (ELCA) and was very involved in service there. He also donated his time volunteering at the local food bank.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Marguerite "Peggy" Fierro of Lake Havasu City, AZ; step-sons, Tim Schmackpfeffer (Sandy) of Hisperia, CA and Todd Schmackpfeffer (Cathy) of Buena Park, CA; brother, Jesus Fierro of El Paso, TX; sisters, Emma Avina of Monterey Park, CA and Delia Martinez of Wilmington, CA; 7 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Soledad Fierro and 6 siblings.
Carlos was loved by all and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Donations can be made to Mt. Olive Debt Reduction Fund.
