Estell "Pete" E. Hector, 91, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. His wife Clara, son Dale and Pastor Chad Garrison were at his side. He was born on November 1, 1915 in Rochester, MO; to Albert Hector and Maude (Simmons) Hector.Pete moved to California in his early 20's and worked at his family's restaurant business. He graduated welding school in 1940 and went to work in a shipyard in Long Beach, CA. Pete served his country in the United States Marine Corps, 1st. Marine Division in Okinawa and Guadacanal from 1944-1947. Upon returning to the states, Pete returned to work in the restaurant business for his family. He married Clara on May 1, 1955 and they both decided to open their own restaurant. After several moves they settled in San Juan Capistrano, CA; owning and operating Pete and Clara's restaurant for 24 years. They both retired in 1979, moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ; in 1982, and were members of Calvary Baptist Church. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.Pete is survived by wife Clara, daughter Victoria Harr of San Diego, CA; sons, Gregory Hector of Thailand, Dale Hector of San Juan Capistrano, CA; stepsons, Richard Taylor of Buena Park, CA; Allen Taylor of Batesville, AR; brothers, Albert Hector Jr., and Wilbur Hector; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Merrell Salmons, Hildred Maxine Tuttle, May and Fay Hector, brothers, Dale, Kenneth, Marion, Marvin and Ray. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Chad Garrison. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made in Pete's name to the Calvary Baptist Building Fund, 1605 S.
