Donald Francis De Nunno Sr., 77, passed away August 24, 2007 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Vincenzo (Vito) and Maria Di Nunno on July 22, 1930 in Brockton, MA.Donald married his best friend Mellie Gonzalez on July 24, 1949 and together they made Lake Havasu their home 13 years ago from Anaheim, CA. Donald was an operations manager for Hughes Aircraft in Fullerton, CA for 37 years. Most recently he was a bus driver for Lake Havasu Unified School District for 13 years. He was the past president and board member of Hughes Aircraft Company Management Club, a 25 year member of the Elks Club, 14 year Parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake, Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America-Scout-A-Rama and past president and trailmaster of the Rolling HAC's Trailer Club.Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mellie De Nunno of Lake Havasu; son, Donald F. De Nunno Jr. of Anaheim, CA; daughters, Donna De Nunno Morello of Lake Havasu, Erlinda De Nunno Malechikos of Huntington Beach, CA, Celina De Nunno of Lake Havasu and Malisa T. Courville of Lake Havasu; sister, Joanne Bows of Taunton, MA; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.A Rosary and funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2007 at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow the services at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. The VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will conduct full military honors.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405 or to the American Cancer Society of Lake Havasu, PO Box 1410, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Thoughts and condolences may be submitted to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.comArrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
