Bobby Ross Austin, 76, of Lake Havasu City, AZ passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, 2007, in Lake Havasu. He was born October 14, 1930 in Evansville IN to Alfred P. and Bessie H. Austin (Boatright) and was raised in Rumsey, KY.In 1954, he married Marlene Brown in Salt Lake City, UT. Bobby was a loving husband, father and grandfather; an avid NASCAR fan; enjoyed riding his 4-wheelers with friends and family and was especially fond of all his grandchildren. He proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, during which time he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Upon his military retirement he worked as an independent flooring contractor in Salt Lake City, UT, for over 20 years, before finally retiring to Lake Havasu City, AZ, seven years ago. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2399, Eagles Lodge #4299, American Legion Post #81 and the V.F.W. Post #9401.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marlene, of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and his five children; sons, Robert and wife Robyn, of South Jordan, UT, William and wife Kari, of Bountiful, UT; daughters, Patricia Tucker and husband Monte, of Elmo, UT, Linda, of Phoenix, AZ, Marilyn Bodell and husband Chad, of Murray, UT; grandchildren, Misty, Cindy, Tanya, Earl, Jeffrey, Mike, Brittany, Brooke, Chase, Brock; 10 great grandchildren; his brothers, Gene and wife Belle, of Calhoun, KY, Hugh and wife Monica, of Peoria, IL; sisters, Joan Jordan and husband Bill, of Ottawa, IL, Anne Crawford and husband Steve, of Calhoun, KY, Rebecca Herndon, of Owensboro, KY, and stepmother Athel Austin, of Calhoun, KY. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred P. Austin, mother Bessie Boatright and his stepfather Walter Boatright. Bob will always be remembered for how he could bring a smile or laugh to those around him and will be deeply missed by his family and his extended family of friends. Visitation will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, UT, Thursday, September 20, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Utah State Veterans Cemetery, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale, UT, on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made in Bob's name to the Arizona Kidney Foundation, 4203 E.
